Almost 1,000 g of suspected fentanyl seized in Niagara police drug investigation

A 36-year-old Hamilton man and a 46-year-old man from Stoney Creek were arrested and face multiple drug charges.

Two people have been charged following a drug investigation that took place in late 2024 through early 2025 by the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS).

“During the investigation, detectives discovered that a male residing in Hamilton was traveling to Niagara to distribute illegal drugs,” NRPS said in a press release Feb. 21.

Two males were arrested on Feb. 19 after the NRPS observed “several suspected drug deals throughout the Niagara Region.”

On Feb. 20, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a “Controlled Drug and Substance Act” search warrant on a Hamilton apartment and as a result seized $110,000 (977.9 grams) of suspected fentanyl and carfentanil, according to the press release.

Police also seized 193.3 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, 36.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 166 suspected MDMA pills, 285 Percocet tablets and over $10,000 in Canadian currency, NRPS said.
